I carry three lights. I know that sounds like a lot but they all have their purpose. My LRI micro-lite is zipped to my bag, it never leaves and is always in the same place in the dark. My headlamp is my goto for hands free work. For everything else there is the brilliant (pun intended) Mini-Maglite LED.
After four years mine looks like it’s been through a war – because it has. Through the mud, and sand, and salt it has survived a dozen and a half battery changes and a fall into a Cambodian cave. The LED is a vast improvement over the old incandescent bulbs with one minor drawback – the candle feature. But it’s a fair trade-off for sipping juice as this thing rarely seems to run low.
