They say a picture’s worth a thousand words. When you cart around a busted old waterproof, they’re generally worth about two, two-fifty tops.
Cambodia: The Kingdom, my adopted home. Repulsive at first, a scratch of the surface has revealed a hidden personal paradise. (Under Construction)
Vietnam: Oil-stained and beer soaked. My four month introduction to Southeast Asia from the back of ‘La Poderosa’ – The Mighty One.
India: Hard traveling in the land of pox and plague. Rain and intestinal pain made minor by history and culture so beautiful and scarred – it tore me to shreds.
Camera: For the majority of my travels I’ve used a Lumix TS-20. It’s small size, light weight, and rugged features seemed fitting for life on the road. It’s adamantium shell kept the gizmo going through conditions that would have left other more elaborate cameras a pile of metal on the side of the Ho Chi Minh Highway. The downside? It takes a lot to get a good snap.
If there’s a good photo anywhere on here, most likely it was taken by my intrepid companion, Cassie, with a Canon PowerShot SX510 HS 12.1 MP Camera with 30x Optical Zoom.
Her eye for a shot, and dedication to do whatever necessary to get it, has resulted in some of the most brilliant photographs I’ve seen in my travels.
