First-Aid Kit In A Tube
If you pack one thing for first aid hygiene pack a tube of this. Hell, pack two.
Be liberal with it and prevent infections while reducing healing time. Get back on the road faster by regularly treating wounds with this miracle medicine. I’d take a smear of this and a filthy bandana before I would a dry bandage.
Traveling for four years has shown me many things. One, this stuff works with no conditions. Two, many people are clueless when it comes to simple first aid. I’ve seen people bandage wounds with dirt packed so deeply inside it basically guarantees an infection. So for posterity here it is Nickythump First-Aid Seminar on small wounds.
1. Wash and clean the wound thoroughly with warm water and soap. This is CRUCIAL! Many people feel the wound is too tender to really get in there, and instead bandage it without a deep, painful scrub.
2. If no stitches are needed then apply a coating of Neosporin and cover loosely with a bandage, cloth and duct tape, bloody bandana etc.
3. At night rinse and lightly pat dry. Reapply Neosporin and air dry at night open or with a loose clean bandage.
4. Keep dry and repeat.
5. Don’t scratch scabs! I’ve seen a mosquito bite turn into a gaping wound requiring medical evacuation all because they couldn’t handle the itching that is a natural part of healing.
